Excursion to the Pennsylvania Ballet by Dr. Joan Brown’s Honors/Graduate Seminar on Contemporary Hispanic Fiction by Women
Students in Professor Joan Brown’s Honors/Graduate seminar on Contemporary Hispanic Fiction by Women attended a performance of the Pennsylvania Ballet’s “The Sleeping Beauty” at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia on October 22, 2017, with support from the Honors Program and the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures. The performance related to a novella and poem by Puerto Rican author Rosario Ferré (“La bella durmiente” and “La bailarina”) that use ballet to explore issues of class and gender.
