Every era has its own specific literary movement that reflects social and political changes.

The  years from 1960 to the present have been characterized by many events that changed the political and economic face of Italy. These changes had a great impact on the Italian literature as well as Italian cinema and music. This course focuses on the analysis of the major authors, movie directors and songwriters, from the years of the “economic boom”  to the years of the “immigration without borders,” who expressed or express with their works the issues related to the period in which they lived or live in.  Emphasis will be placed particularly on the works of authors like Calvino, Fallaci, Sciascia, Camilleri, Vassalli as well as movie directors Tornatore and Tarantino and singers and songwriters Gaber, Celentano, Battisti, Dalla.
