DLLC Career Event – Fall 2015
Thursday, October 22 (12:30-1:30 pm) at 401 Academy Street (Workshop Room)
Career Services Center and the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures invite you to a special career event aimed at exploring career options for language majors and minors.
The program is divided into two parts:
- 12:30-1:00 Guest speaker (Jennifer Seabrook-Scott, Statewide Nutrition Educator/ UD Cooperative Extension) will discuss her experiences using a second language in the workplace.
- 1:00-1:30 Career Counselor (Lisa Sydney, UD Career Services Center) will give practical recommendations on how to create effective resume and cover letters that highlight your language proficiency.
GUEST SPEAKER BIO: Jennifer Seabrook-Scott is a bilingual statewide nutrition educator at the University of Delaware Cooperative Extension serving both English and Spanish speaking low-income families in their communities. She is going to be speaking on her experiences with speaking a second language in the workplace, cultural competence, and strategies to market foreign language skills in the healthcare field.
