French Theater Workshop’s presentation of “Drapeau rouge et tasse de thé”
On Thursday, May 5, the students of Dr. Deborah Steinberger’s French Theater Workshop (FREN 456) presented “Drapeau rouge et tasse de thé,” a work by the contemporary French playwright Paul Cote. Set in the home of a struggling provincial widow and her four daughters, the ninety-minute comedy highlights the themes of electoral politics and propaganda. The week following the performance, Dr. Steinberger’s students had the opportunity to dialogue with the author via Skype and ask their questions about Mr. Cote’s works, his career, and his craft.
