Bread and Tulips
BREAD & TULIPS is about a woman’s search for self-fulfillment among the habits and responsibilities of everyday life. Rosalba (Licia Maglietta), a middle-aged woman on a bus trip to Venice with her husband and her sons, is inadvertently left behind at a rest stop off of the highway. Instead of waiting for her controlling and unfaithful husband, she hitchhikes her way home, only to impulsively detour to Venice where she gets a job, rents an apartment and rediscovers her passion for the accordion. As the days go by with no word from her family, she settles into a room at a local hotel and takes a job at a flower shop. When her husband and sons finally begin to miss her, they send a friend to look for her. Will she return home to her parental duties and daily routine or continue to pursue her lost freedom? “Bread and Tulips” is a warmhearted comedy about love, family, and friendship.
