The aspiring singer Pauline cannot choose between her two married lovers, the concert critic Georg Lalinde and the respected doctor Klaus Klett, when it comes to love affairs. After she becomes pregnant things get worse, but at least she knows that she is giving up the planned career overseas in favor of a double dose of child care, as it turns out.
