Tora-san returns to his Shibamata home to find his room occupied by Yuko, a distant relative who is hiding after leaving her husband.  Tora-san loses his heart to Yuko and abruptly cancels his plans to leave town. However, his romantic dreams are shattered when Yuko’s husband arrives and she decides to reconcile with him.  Heartbroken by Yuko’s reconciliation with her husband, Tora-san packs his bags and hits the road again to work during the New Year.
