At War with the Elements: Imagination and Radiation in Svetlana Alexievich’s Voices from Chernobyl

Dr. Göran Blix, Associate Professor of French at Princeton University, will give a talk entitled “At War with the Elements: Imagination and Radiation in Svetlana Alexievich’s Voices from Chernobyl”. In part sponsored by the Department of Languages, Literatures & Cultures, this talk will no doubt carry broad appeal due to its global scope and how it touches upon the environmental, political, and even aesthetic implications of nuclear disaster. Also, this year marks the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl catastrophe.
