A fundamental part of the Language Resource Center (LRC) is the Language Proficiency Center (LPC).  The Language Proficiency Center pairs language students with LRC sponsored Spanish and French tutors through an on-line scheduling system providing undergraduates with a tutorial appointment during which they can discuss composition errors, review video project outlines, discuss important grammatical topics, and engage in authentic target language conversation in fifteen or thirty minute segments.  They then meet their graduate student tutors either online via links in the on-line scheduling system or in-person at Jastak-Burgess Hall.

A welcome addition to the LRC are the Language Conversation Tables where students of French and Spanish can gather without prior appointment to converse with native speakers in a relaxed and friendly setting that promotes acquisition through a gentle and authentic immersion experience.  Spanish Sessions for Spring 2025 are held on Mondays from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm with Leire and from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm with Mariana, on Wednesdays from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm with Miguel, and on Fridays from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm with Mariana in the Rollins Room Lobby at Jastak-Burgess Hall while the French Sessions are held on Mondays  from 2 to 4 with Johanna, on Tuesdays from 1 to 3 with Lauréne, on Wednesdays from 2 to 4 with Johanna, and on Fridays from 1 to 3 with Lauréne at the same location.  Students of all proficiency levels are welcome.
